xxBlacks Backxx

Today was a return of the 'all black'...Yes thats right I was working at Longbeach Mall once again!!!
I opted for a dress as black pants are a limited item in my closet. The dress is from Daisy Island, the blazer from Legit, leggings from Pep, alice band from Pick n Pay Clothing, necklace from divas, boots from outlet in Wynberg and the ring from Longbeach Craft Market!

I definately went through a bubble dress phase, although I can't say that I'm out of the phase as yet.

Walking Tinkles as she loves the outdoors. We walk a few times around my boyfriend's complex which totally exhaust Tinkles! It's a reason for me to get some exercise too (killing two birds with one stone)

xxCheaper Choicexx

These pics were taken on middle campus, where i usually park my car for varsity. The weather was kind of chilly but the sun was out (meaning hello camera)
The red cardi is from Fundango, the polka dot tshirt is from YDE, the jeans are from Fashion Express an the boots are from Mr P!

The scarf is from Woolworths and the p-beanie is from Truworths

Dressing for varsity is kind of difficult as I have to separate various items of clothing for ovious reasons. This is the reason that I tend to shop at cheaper stores for the mere fact that if it becomes worn or tatty, its ok as its just varsity. (But I must admit that there are real dressy items at cheap shops too) I guess it boils down to the way you work it!!!

These boots were made for walking ...and thats exactly what they do given the distance from middle to upper campus EVERYDAY!!! definately comfortable...

xxLotsa Layersxx

Waking up at 6am limits my abitlity to think...and in turn to think about what to wear. Today was just about keeping warm especially since the air is bitterly cold at this hour. I usually can predict the outcome of the weather for the day depending on how the view from my window looks. (and by putting my little finger through the window) Today definately called for a few extra layers in comparison to what I was wearing the rest of the week. I wore about three subsatntial layers in total.

A long black body top from Legit, a purple cardi from Fundango, a black hoody from Woolworths kids (love it that I can pay a fraction of the cost for relatively similar quality, black scarf from Pick n Pay Clothing, belt from Woolworths, Jeans from Fashion for Life, gloves (a gift) and the boots from an outlet in Wynberg.

I feel that the layered look has the ability to distinguish between a lounging at home look from actually making an effort.

xxUpper UCTxx

All good things have to come to an end right? Well, my good thing ended after +2 months of being on holiday!!!Going back is never easy, especially if your first class is a 8am one. (lucky me)

Waking up after 6 isnt fun, all i wanted to do was stay in Pjs and sleep of course. Dressing today revolved around getting as close to Pjs as possible (especially since brain activity is very limited at this hour) Firstly i sleep in hoodies, secondly uggs are as comfortable as slippers if not more and lastly light 'pants' for comfort...I think i got pretty close under the circumstances.
The hoody is from an outlet is Wynberg (R65 caught my eye), the tights are from Pep, the uggs are a gift and the pretty tshirt is from Mr P!

This tshirt was originally a gift for a friend. I wrapped it prettily and off I went to her party (the intention was there to give it to her) She arrived much later than the time stated and I had another engagement. The next day I remebered how much I liked the t and ended up wearing it.
I did replace the gift though, with a pretty purse!!!!

It suited me better, especially since my little puppies name is Tinkles!!!

This bag is the best part of my day. I started off first year with a sling which wasn't the best especially with regards to my back. The following year I ended up using hand bags which wasnt a good idea either...they oviously deteriorated much more quickly.
Finally this year, I shopped high and low searching for a pretty, yet affordable bag. It never struck me to look at Claire's until I randomly went in.... And there it was...I absolutely love the comfort, colours, shapes, size (EVERYTHING)-I've continously been told that the bag is 'so me'

xxBff's Birthdayxx

Today was a celebration of my friend Jody's 22nd birthday. We went to Grandwest Casino to ice skate but ended up bowling, playing games and eating of course.
It was a great way to end the holidays and oviously celebrate a very special friend's birthday I guess it turned out better that we did not ice-skate especially since i was wearing a dress. The boobtube dress is from YDE, the jacket from RJL, stockings from Woolworths and boots from Mr P!

The pearls are originally a necklace which i draped around my arm for a bracelet 'look'!!!I'm not really a pearl girl, so all pearl accessories (earings and ring)are own loan from my mother's cupboard!! (the scarf was a hand-me down gift from their too)The look is definately growing on me

This bag was a gift from my Grandmother ... It's spacious and trendy (love the centre bow)
This jacket was bought years ago (literally) from a franchise called RJL, which no longer exists. I forgot about it for a while (and kind of out grew it a bit too) but now it fits perfectly again!!!

As a result of the summer sun, i turned up the sleeves a bit (as well as to show off the bracelet pearls)

It was definately a fun-filled day...from dusk to dawn

Bowling was so much fun, unfortunately the birthday girl did not win...nor did I. Ironically she came last and I came second last (just wasnt the girls night)

Bowling at Grandwest was really organised, especially since we did not have to bowl bare foot or at least on socks (although I think that could be attributed to my success the last time)
After bowling, instead of hitting the slots, we attacked the game arcade...and walked away with lighter wallets and three fuzzy friends each. (It's amazing to stay in touch with your inner child-thats what keeps us young)

xxSunday Servicexx

Getting ready for church on a Sunday...(weekly family tradtion). I love any chance to get dressed up (in heels especially) Thank goodness that the weather was favourable...especially since I did not have to wear a jacket or coat (this cardi is too pretty to remain hidden) I was immediately drawn to the fact that the bow was so "Gossip Girl"

The cardi is from Pulse, the yelow boobtube is a gift (from London), the jeans are a gift (from Mr p) and the shoes were also a gift (from Mr P too)

It's lovely having a mother to share things with especially when you lack in certain areas. I was searching high and low for a bag to match my outfit and remained unsuccessful...until I remebered that my mother had this perfect one. (not sure where she got it from though)
It's good to borrow for variety...

The charm bracelet is a very sentimental 21st gift from Thomas Sabo. I did not receive a conventional key, but instead received this charm bracelet with meaningful charms attached. (J-Jill (my name), W-Walter(late father), Key-coming of age, Shoe-I LOVE SHOES)
The chain was a gift from my mother too (i believe from London)

These shoes steer away from the typical one's I would normally wear. But I must admit I love the look and feel. I'm starting to step out of my comfort zone and explore beyond my own defined borders...having fun might I add!!!

xxSoccer Seasonxx

My boyfriend enjoys playing sports for fun and exercise of course. Today he gathered with some family and friends to play a friendly 'match'. Luckily for me the weather was great (an excuse to sit on a blanket in the sun)

So the weather ws sunny...but Cape Town weather is always unpredictable-so I came prepared!!
(my jacket was in the car)
The jeans were from Fashion for Life, the grey cardi from Woolworths, the white tshirt fro Mr P and the takkies from Pep and the light scarf from Pick n Pay Clothing Store.
The ring is actually extremely sentimental to me. My current bf of 3.5 years gave it to me for our 1month anniversary. (it grew on me just as he did)
The bracelet was part of a set of 3 jewellery pieces (bracelet, earings, chain) designed for my Matric Dance by a shop called Sparkles. I accesorised in complete white against my green dress.

I had my eye on these takkies(from Pep) whilst browsing one day. Turns out I needed a pair of white takkies for work, what a perfectly-timed excuse.

The earings were also hand made by a shop called Sparkles in Canal Walk. (Matric Dance accesories)
They compiled the jewellery to match my dress. (perfectly unique piece)

This belt was actually attached to a pants from YDE...really love buying items like this because even when the pants/bottoms go out of fashion, the belt also becomes reusable!!

xxFriday Flopxx

LAst night was soupposed to be a celebration of my best friends birthday...due to unforeseen circumstances that has been postponed till sunday. This therefore left a gap where friday night's plans were supposed to be...

So I ended up hanging with a bunch of 'game-crazy' boys. On a normal night i would not have entertained this, but decided to base my previous opinion on a experience basis. I used to love playing Mario Brothers on a tv game, but havent quite adjusted to the xbox thing yet. (Guitar Hero was what grabbed my attention to be quite honest)
We went to 'The Box' in Claremont, where Guitar Hero appeared to be occupied for the night...
This therefore ended my night as i didnt stay much longer (at least now i know why i wont go back there)
Deciding what to wear with no concrete plans in mind was rather difficult. Either go glam or go home i guess. The black jersey top is from Fashion for life, The tights from E.P. Fashions, The belt from Daisy Island, The bag from London and the boots from a Wynberg outlet. (the alice band is from centre point)

Sitting on the steps in the alley where 'The Box' is situated...what a breath of fresh air!!!(cold fresh air hence the coat-from YDE)

My accessories were kept to a minimum because my belt and alice band were so eye catching. The earings are a gift from Durban and the bracelet was a gift from my Godmother.

xxDoggy Dayxx

Today was Tinkles's first puppy class at Wynberg Military Base. I must say it went better than expected... (especially after hearing that one of the puppies and her owner got kicked out on their first lesson)

Tinkles listened for the most part although she was very distracted by the other dogs (all she wants to do is play)!!!
This is the ramp which Tinkles accomplished on her first attempt (ok, she was bribed with liver treats), but nonetheless she climbed this mountain...

Glad that i was dressed comfy as it was a real work out for me too. I wore a purple tshirt (i added the black extension to add length) from Sports Unlimited. The weather man actually got his forecast wrong which would explain the wellingtons (from Pick n Pay clothing)
The black undergarments are from E.P. fashion (tights)and Legit (l/s top)
We have a lot of work cut out for us this week...but by next week Tinkles will be top of her class (",)
