xxWrong Wrapxx

I should be wearing a tshirt, shorts and sandals. On the other hand I am perfectly dressed for the shade and indoors.

I've kept it real simple and thin today. The hoody Jay Jays), beannie (Markhams) and scarf  (Pick 'n Pay Clothing)were just for the crisp morning air. If not for the items, I would have curled up and...

At midday day these items might seem a bit drastic but to those who are sleeping when I get dressed will never know.

The hooped earrings are from Identity

The yallow boobtube layer is from my mother on her trip to London. The black jerseys is from Aca Joe and the tights are from Pep. The chain draped as a necklace is from Edgars.

xxSoft Shadesxx

I decided to start this post off by showing off the pair of earrings I recieved from my grandparents on their trip to Durban. I really believe that you can never have too many silver accessories.

The chain is from Divas, the bangle a gift and the ring is from Kleins.

These green pair of jeans are from juicy, which I havent worn in a while . I love the hipster fit especially when cardi's are a tad bit longer than usual. I decided to wear a thin spring Aca Joe cardi since the weather has turned out warmer than expected lately. It's always better to layer, I believe! The white vest top is from Zoot (got two for the price of one on sale) and the boots are from Mr P!

I really love the way these colours compliment each other.

This belt (YDE) and chain have really come in handy! I love the way they feature as a prominent item in my closet. They are not restrictive and allow for a lot of variety within my style.
Need to top up on these handy items...

xxPostman Patxx

It's very ironic that I'm standing next to a post box, especially since I worked at a post office in lower Woodstock for the day. (well not exactly)

The job entailed labelling Addidas soccer balls and mailing them off to recipients who had won them in a competition. There must hav been over 400 balls of which I had to label with the correct names and addresses. On top of that they had to be transported in three separate car trips. What a mission...

The morning started off rather chilly as it does most mornings.Iquickly heated up through the intensive labour. (Ok, I'm being a little dramatic) Rumaging through 300+ balls in order to locate the exact one on a label (and vice versa) is not easy or fun.

The job seemed never ending.

I really wanted to wear colourful stockings (from Mr P), so I worked around that. The tank vest is from Aca Joe and the jersey is from Verona on my overseas trip.

The skirt interestingly enough is a suvenoir from an exhausting shift of being a cheerleader for the world reknowned Argus Cycle Tour some years back. It's the least the client could have given us after expecting us to scream and shout in the baking sun from 5am-5pm. Great memories though (which lasted in the form of disgusting sun burn and lost voices)

The beads were my mothers, the bangle a gift from Mputu and the belt and accessory with a pair of pants from YDE.
The pumps are from Shoerama.

I really enjoy the advantages of being a student promoter. It has taken me places and captivated experiences I've never dreamt of. It has also opened a lot of doors into the future I wish to proceed with. Heres to the last few months of being young, broke and care free!!

xxBig Birthdayxx

Last night was the celebration of a friend's 21 years. It took the form of  a very festive braai. The food was great and so was the company. I loved dancing the night away to top tunes.

It was a semi formal occasion at a family member's house. I decided to dress (without heels) as I wasn't sure about the dress code, especially since it was a home affair.

Since purchasing my first high-waisted skirt, I've been on a hunt for more. This one is from Mr p...It was the only one and in my size too (definate sign)-I'm BIG on signs!!! I really think it elongates my body especially since I have a short torso. The shirt is from Foshini and the striped pull over is also from Mr P.

I didn't want to wear too many colours and since I didnt have a suitable cardi thought this pull over would be a better subsitute. It was a good thing too as I was flustered dancing the night away.

The opaque tights are from Woolworths and the boots are from Mr P

The heart pendent is from Feel Good Beads...(to match my hooped earrings from YDE)

The birthday boy in the centre picture and his cousin.

The left and right pics are of me and my camera-loving friends.

It was really a romantic evening...especially towards the end when all the love jams came out and the slow dancing started...So all the couples took to the dance floor

xxPlat Patternsxx

I think for this post, I'm more happy with my different hairstyle than my clothing. I decided to plat my hair overnight so that it would appear curly in the morning. It worked even though it lasted for no longer than 30mins (that's the South Easter for you)

Im not as talented as my friend when it comes to GHD curls...so I opted for the old fashion way! Definately not long lasting, but it's a start.

Along with the curls...came the very 'young girl' look. Or maybe it is just all the pink. I decided to wear a very aged track top from Aca Joe, a white knitted hoody from Lizzy, jeans from Fashion for Life and the pretty boots were a gift. The pink, punky fish, vesat top is from London.

Theses are  a close up of the curls...until they straightened out again. The earring were a gift from an aunt. Love the multifunctionality of the colours.
I thought I'd sport the hoody to protect the curls...maybe hairspray would have been a better alternative.
I'm still very proud though, even though it was temporarily.

Today was really a 'spontaneous dress' day. I didnt have any idea what to wear and basically just kept it simple. What can go wrong woth a simply cardi, denims and pumps right?

I ended up having a make up lesson today at a Bobbie Brown counter in Cavendish Square. I can't say I was really impressed with the make up artist who attended to me...but I was impressed with certain products. I ended up buying a magical correcter and concealer. (definately an investment)

The jeans are form Fashion for Life, the lime vest from Vertigo, the grey cardi from Woolworths and the lilac scarf from Pick n Pay Clothing.

These fabulous sunglasses are from Bondiblu...a reality reliable brand. They were on sale for a ridiculouly cheap amount and ofcourse I had to have them...Summer days here I come.
These earrings I dont't wear nearly enough. They were a gift from my grandmother. What lovely taste she has...

The bangles are from my mother's closet...her user friendly hand-me-downs!!!!

The knee highs I'm wearing were essential at 6am this morning. Wow, winter can be so cruel...but midday temperatures are sooo worth the minimal effort in the morning.

xxMiserable Muizenbergxx

This typical Cape Town winter weather had to come sooner or later I guess, even if it did just last for one day. I ended up missioning, in this weather, to False Bay College to check out application details and the study options with my boyfriend.

The day ironically started out with sunshine and faint blue skies...imagine how I felt misiioning with Wellingtons and a puffy jacket up to campus. I really am grateful that I listened to the weatherman as UCT was not pleasant as they day unfolded. So I stood out like a sore thumb initially...but was smiling all the way down to the car in the rain.

I probably treated this weather as a last chance to sport wellingtons. They really are a necessary item especially with our winters. (plus it's fun to jump in puddles) The Wellingtons are from Pick n Pay Clothing.

As you can see from the clouds in the background, my style today was not far off.

Hoodies are a necessity for hair in this weather...but due to the fact that I actually left this jacket (from Woolworths)in the car my hair was already soaking from earlier and I had no use for the hoody. The puffiness on the otherhand did add a little extra warmth fro my body!
The black dress is from Fashion for Life and the leggings are from E.P fashions.

The belt was just to give the look a little more colour along with the boots. The belt is from Mr P. I've started applying press studs to figure belts that don't fit me correctly as hair pins just look plain ugly...Now any belt fits me :)

I actually don't normally wear accessories to varsity...now I've decided not to wear my best. So today I accessorised with a plain hooped pair from Identity.

xxBasic Blazerxx

I've always admired the JT/ Paul Walker look (or maybe I've just admired them) with the blazer, jeans and All Stars. Thought I'd give it a try today with a twist. I oviously had to improvise as I dont own black All Stars and the fact that rain was predicted (thats why I added the hoody).

I worn the blue jeans from Fashion for Life, a black blazer from Legit, a black hoody from Woolworths and sneaker type All Stars from Collections.

I know these are not All Stars...but they are cute. I thought I'd wear them especially since the colour black featured quite a bit. I love the fact that it replicas the All Star look...I'm definately an All Star girl and absolutely love it when my guy wears them (wish he loved them as much as I do)

I took a chance with this look as I'm really not used to this lack of colour or femininty in a sense. I don't think I'd rush to do it agian though...but it's good to experiment!!!
I love it when a hoody sticks out of anything...very skaterish!!!
Apart from my alice band (pick n pay clothing)...these are the only other visible accesory. I decided just to sprouse up the look with a washed out gold pair of earrings (YDE) especially since the sneaker comprises of glittery gold deatil.
Lesson Learnt: I definately need to invest in a black plain pair of All Stars (i need more versatility in my life)
I do believe this would have completed the look 100%

xxGrease Gapxx

Feeling very inspired by Sandy (from Grease) today...with my dancer, off the shoulder top. I received this top as a gift for my birthday about two years ago. I haven't worn it as often as I 'd like to, for the mere fact that I found it hard to vary the clothing I accessorised it with.

Today, it all just came to me.

I wore it with a long sleeve black top from YDE, black pumps from Shoerama and opaque tights from Edgars.

I was relieved that I didn't have to wear another covering of some sort...especially since that would take away from the outfit. I think that's what persuaded me to wear this top today.

I thought I'd just throw in the belt, from Mr P for a dancer look...and well I thought it looked quite cool. I've always wanted to be a dancer (even did hip- hop dancing whilst I was in high school and more recently Latin American dancing last year). It's really a great sport !!

These are my favourite opaque tights from Edgars. I almost never go into this shop but so glad I found this pair. It's has such a great feel and fit...should've bought more when I had the chance!

xxNew Nakednessxx

I house sit occasionally on a Sunday for Seeff Properties...This explains the nakedness of the apartment. Normally there is furniture-just wasnt my luck today.
This apartment had a very blurred view of the sea (a love maze blocked the entire view)

This week I was sitiing at New Cumberland in Mouille Point, Cape Town.

This belt is really tight...especially since I basically just had lunch. It really doesnt allow for much movement or growth. I guess that's why they say 'suffer for beauty'!!

I was dressed very casually today...apart from the boots. The polka dot top has not been worn for years so I definately needed to give it some view time. It must have been the first item I ever bought from my favourite cheap outlet, Fashion for life. The cardi is from sassi and the legging are from Pep. The belt is from Fundango and the boots are from Woolworths.
This bangle was part of a set which I have seemed to misplace. It was a gift from the boyfriend from Ralo Cosmetics.

I used to hate (still kind of do) adjustable rings. They just had this cheap look about them. This is actually an adjustable ring which i really liked and had to have. Its from Lonbeach Craft Market. (and it wasnt cheap at all)
